They have honed their experience and skills in international tournaments. Thus, our compatriots took part in the 2009 Asian Youth Para Games, where they won 5 gold, three silver and three bronze medals. At the IBSA World Youth and Student Games held in the US, our parasportsmen won one gold, one silver and four bronze medals. In the 2010 sports season our compatriots won two gold, three silver and four bronze medals at the international tournament on athletics in Kuwait. At the 2010 amputee football world cup, held in Argentine, our team defended the champion’s title, winning the gold for the second consecutive time. The experience of these big sports fora supported successful overcoming of difficult qualification phases for the XIV Paralympic Games.
During 21 years of Independence, which Uzbekistan celebrates on September 1st, there were created all necessary conditions to get education and strengthen healthcare for people who are in need of social care and with limited physical abilities. They can obtain a vocation of their choice and interest, get education and participate in sports based on special pedagogical methods at specialised schools, secondary and vocational educational institutions.
