The 49th International Spring Fair with participation of diplomatic missions in London took place in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea town hall. The fair is the largest annual charity event in the British capital, organized by the International Social Service of United Kingdom (ISS UK).
s a part of the event, the Embassy of Uzbekistan organized the national art exposition. Numerous visitors and participants of the fair have learned about the historical and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people and its adherence to universal social and family values.
Along with the Embassy of Uzbekistan, diplomatic missions of over 100 countries of the world as well as various British and international organizations participated at the fair.
Many visitors of the Uzbek section of exhibition observed the works of national and applied arts, the ceramic tools, gold-embroidery gowns, bright silk cloths, scarves and other items which showcased the rich culture and developed craftsmanship of Uzbekistan.
Mrs. Elizabeth Young, chairwoman of the fair, expressed her admiration by the works of the Uzbek masters presented at the exhibition and told about her intention to visit Uzbekistan to directly learn about such wonderful ancient cities as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent.
According to number of visitors, the Uzbek section was one of the most original, colorful and attractive. They said that such cultural campaigns promote strengthening of the spirit of understanding and cooperation between the nations.
