City of Navoi & Enterprise Mark Jubilee, President Felicitates

On December 20 this year on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishment of the Navoi Mining and Smelting Enterprise and the city of Navoi the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov sent a letter of congratulation to the employees of the enterprise and residents of the city, according to the national newspapers that published the letter.

“It renders me a profound pleasure to sincerely and from the bottom of my heart congratulate the renowned employees of the Navoi Mining and Smelting Enterprise and residents of the city of Navoi on the 50th anniversary of establishment,” President’s message has read from the start.

Dwelling on the enterprise and the city itself, the Uzbek Leader wrote:

“Established fifty years ago at the spacious desert areas of Kyzylkums and now effectively functioning powerful modern versatile production complex which is well known not only in our republic but also in many countries of the world, and the city of Navoi that had emerged on its basis and has been prospering and becoming majestic year to year arouse admiration as an example of creative genius and selfless labor of our people, cardinal reforms, renewal and modernization now underway in the country.”

“Today, with a feeling of sincere gratitude we give credit to veterans, all workers who have in a toughest climatic conditions erected this truly modern high technological complex, and with their labor and mastery had provided for a fame of highly qualified employees of many thousands,” Islam Karimov also wrote on diligent employees of both past and present.

Focusing on the significance of reestablishing Navoi Province and putting it back onto the political map of Uzbekistan, President further wrote:

“The life itself confirmed the significance of restoring historical justice in the years of independence - establishing the Navoi Province anew that has opened up new horizons and opportunities for an accelerated development of this region, and most importantly - for exploiting priceless riches being extracted on this soil in the interests of our people and country.”

“Despite serious economic hardships and difficulties of transition period we have not only been able to preserve production capacities and opportunities of the Navoi Mining and Smelting Enterprise, as well as its unique cadres potential, but also, taking into account the prospects, we had achieved its further sustainable development based on introduction of latest technologies that meet the highest requirements and world standards,” President’s congratulatory message has further read.

According to the Leader of Uzbekistan, “at the moment, 80 percent of high-quality gold produced in the country, as much as entire uranium concentrate and necessary raw for phosphorite fertilizers are being produced at this very enterprise. At the moment, the Uzbek gold has gained a worthy recognition at prestigious London and Tokyo exchanges of precious metals.”

“Everything that has been established and being created today by an honest work of employees of the Navoi Mining and Smelting Enterprise, all residents of the city of Navoi, towns, villages and auls of the province give us all grounds to confidently look at the future, provide for a consistent development on the way of progress and growth of people’s living standards,” President also wrote, while focusing on the prospects for tomorrow.

Concentrating on the importance of establishing of the first in the country of free industrial and economic zone on the territory of Navoi Province, President Islam Karimov concluded as follows, along with best wishes and warm regards to jubilants:

“Creation at it of a broad spectrum of high-tech production that provides for manufacture of products competitive in the world market is conditioned above all by enormous resource, territorial, production, labor and intellectual potential of the region.”
