The Uzbek "chaikhana" decorated a Leipzig museum
The third part of regular exhibition on "Traveling across the world" was opened in the Ethnographic Museum of Leipzig (Germany).

The exposition, called "Eurasia: from Atlantic to the Yellow Sea", includes the applied art objects of more than 30 counties of the world. Here special attention was paid to the history and culture of Ancient East including Uzbekistan.

A separate exhibition hall for our displays was styled as national "chaikhana" (tea house) with the support of Uzbek Embassy in Germany. It included things of Uzbek applied art, particularly, ceramics, ready-made garments, gold-embroideries and works of engravers and craftsmen.

Representatives of socio-political, scientific, cultural and diplomatic spheres of Germany participated in the opening ceremony of the Uzbek exposition. Opening the event, Director of Ethnographic Museum K. Deimel thanked the Uzbek side that presented a number of historical things to the museum and enriched its fund. "The stand of Uzbekistan provides both German public and guests of our city with new opportunities to get acquainted with rich history and culture and traditions and present life of ancient cities, located in the "heart of Great Silk Road", noted the scientist.

Having mentioned that in January this year the museum hosted the ceremony of presenting a lot of historical things by the Bukhara regional administration, K. Deimel noted that these wonderful and original works of Bukhara masters took admirable place among other displays of the museum. "They remind our guests of magic world of eastern elegance and grace".
