Munojat Yulchieva, one of the famous Uzbek classical music star, will perform in York and London on 11th and 13th June respectively.
Concerts are organised by Asian Music Circuit and will be held in National Centre for Early Music in York and Purcell Room in London.
A repertoire of Munojat Yulchieva consists of the best examples of Uzbek classical music as well as music by contemporary bastoqors, composers in the traditional Uzbek style. Thanks to her unique voice (a low alto encompassing two-and-a-half octaves) she performs songs from both female and male repertoires.
Yulchieva has participated in numerous traditional music festivals throughout Europe as well as in Morocco, Brazil and the United States. She has received several distinguished awards, and has recorded many albums, notably in France and in Germany.
This year Yulchieva was nominated in the Asia/Pacific category for the prestigious BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards.
