Along Great Silk Road
On 28th April the Embassy of Uzbekistan in conjunction with British-Uzbek Society and Asia House hosted a talk given by Calum Macleod, author of popular Odyssey's travel guidebooks about Uzbekistan.

Due to high popularity of talk, it was decided to organise the second lecture which happened on 24th May and again there was not any unoccupied place.

Talk was focused on historical aspects of ancient and modern Uzbekistan, specifically describing the role of our country played in the heart of the Great Silk Road. Calum's illustrations, collected since his first trip to Uzbekistan in 1992, introduced the beauty, culture and traditions of Uzbek soil.

Almost all guests who attended both events have expressed wish to visit Uzbekistan. Indeed, from year to year more and more people are visiting Uzbekistan and some of them are regular travellers, who are exploring forgotten pages of the ancient history of Uzbekistan that made a huge contribution to the progress of humankind.

It should be noted that these events were the first joint initiative realised by the Embassy and Asia House. Taking into account the success of these events, both sides agreed to organise together another series of cultural programs in the near future.
