According to the Republic's State Committee on Statistics, in Uzbekistan in January-May 2007 the capacity of industrial production has increased by 11.5% in comparison with analogous period in 2006 and has amounted 7.104 trillion soums.
According to the statistical agency, the largest position in general production volume has fuel and energy complex - 27.2%. At the same time the part of power industry is - 9.5%, fuel industry - 17.7%. The part of light industry is - 16.9%, non-ferrous industry - 15.9%, engineering industry - 14.3%, food industry - 6.9%, chemical industry - 6.1%.
The largest increase of production in value terms in January-May was marked in engineering industry - by 31.1%, light industry - 10.8%. In total, the production volume in fuel industry has increased by 13.3%.
In Uzbekistan the volume of industrial production in 2006 has increased by 10.8% in comparison with 2005 and has amounted 14.52 trillion soums, the increase of industrial production in 2007 is planned at the rate of 7.8%.
