On August 25, 2007 the Senate of Oliy Majlis (parliament) of Uzbekistan passed a number of resolutions on the appointment of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of Uzbekistan abroad.
According to the resolutions of the upper chamber, Alisher Kurmanov is appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Singapore; Jahongir Ganiev is appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Italy, Otabek Akbarov is appointed Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Alisher Salahitdinov is appointed Ambassador to the People' Republic of China, and Ziyadulla Pulathojaev is appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
